My husband Bobby Connell (Class of 65) and I have been married for almost 37 years. We met while I was working as a secretary for his Dad at Johnson's Funeral Home. Not many can say they met their future husband at a funeral home. We married while he was in the military and lived for a year at Fort Lewis, Washington. After military sevice he graduated from the University of Texas in Austin and we moved to Midland, Texas in 1973 and have been here ever since. Bobby started coaching tennis at Lee High School and did that for about 17 years. He plans to retire next year after 35 years of teaching.

We have two daughters. Christy, 33 is married and has blessed us three grandchildren. Jennifer, 28 is single and is the manager of Big Five Sportings Goods in Odessa. We are lucky to have them both living in Midland.

The last 14 years I was a co-owner of a retail gift shop. We closed the store last year and I'm enjoying retirement. I spend my time scrapbooking, decorative painting, traveling and got interested in genealogy about 6 years ago and love to vacation in court houses and cemeteries. Spending time with the grandkids and going to their soccer games and activities are on the top of my list these days. We travel to San Angelo about twice a month to see Bobby's Dad. It's amazing how much San Angelo has changed in the last few years.
