I graduated from TCU in 1970 and started teaching math in Houston that year. I earned my Master's degree in 1974 and taught high school math for 34 years in the Houston area. The last 10 years I taught at an alternative school and felt I had found my calling.

I married Jay in 1972. We have 2 adopted children and I have only one grandchild. Our daughter, Johanna, died suddenly at age 29 and I am raising her daughter, Jordyn, alone as my husband died in 2014 of Parkinson's Disease. Jordyn is my focus right now, so my vacations consist of camping trips, Disney World, etc. She is in 6th grade this year and looks and acts like she is in 8th grade. Who thought I would be have to be grounding a child from their cell phone at my age?
Life is good here in Granbury, as my dad (now 91) and my sister live here, too, so I am staying here. I thought I would retire in San Angelo as it has always been home to me, but it wasn't to be.

My retirement plans to buy an RV and travel to all the National Parks are on hold for now and I still may do that when I get this child raised. She is my joy and my whole life right now, but I do manage to play bridge once a week.
